ASPICE (Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capacity Determination) is a global standard for automotive software product development developed by the VDA (Federation of the German Automotive Industry). ASPICE is divided into 6 tiers (from Tier 0 to Tier 5) according to the capability level. ASPICE CL3 is the highest assessment and certification level officially announced to the public and obtained by Tier 1, which indicates that the enterprise has the ability to establish a standard workflow and form an organization-level process asset to guide the R&D process of the applicable project; each project can be established through the tailoring of the standard process and the establishment of a project-level process in order to guarantee the quality of the project's delivery.
